1st Place, California Baptist University High School Creative Writing Contest
Journalism
The Globe
2022-23 Academic Year: Served as a reporter, had articles published in the print edition
2023-24 Academic Year: Served as Feature Section Editor, edited and provided feedback on several pieces each month as well as writing my own, designed pages in the print edition, had multiple articles published in the print edition
2024-25 Academic Year: Served as Director of Peer Mentorship, bringing back the weekly award system as well as creating a new reporter survey designed to pair new students with experienced mentors. Created a mentorship program within the newspaper to ensure the efficient integration of new members into the team as well as establishing a clear order of communication. Revamped the SNOFlow organization (software used to organize stories through assigning writing, editors, and deadlines) as well as reaching out about deadlines and time management. Selected as a member of the National Quill and Scroll Student Advisory Board At the Philadelphia NSPA/JEA convention, earned Honorable Mention in Press Law and Ethics Contest. At the same convention, the year's first issue of The Globe earned 5th Best of Show.
The Y
December 2022-Present: Attended weekly meetings at the middle school to provide mentorship through the writing, editing, and designing process; aided in the publication of the inaugural issue and subsequent ones, worked to connect the middle and high school journalism programs and facilitated a smooth transition of staff from one to the other.
MOJoCo
May 2024-Present: Conceptualized and founded a statewide journalism collaborative connecting high school journalism students in Missouri, as well as connecting with journalism professionals to host speaker events to educate students about the world of professional journalism. Hosted a Zoom conference in October 2024 connecting students from multiple states with the executive editors of the St Louis Post Dispatch and Columbia Missourian.
Speech and Debate
Competitor
From freshman year, competed from October to April in Speech and Debate tournaments, placing consistently in the top-6 in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking and advanced to break rounds/placed at Round Robins for Lincoln Douglas Debate. MSHSAA State Quarterfinalist in LD and Runner-Up in International Extemporaneous (ranked 1-1-5).
Captainship
Extemp Captain (2023-24 and 2024-25 Academic Years): One of two captains leading weekly Extemp meetings (one of the team's most popular events), put together and led news briefings, lectures, and games. Also judged practice rounds and consistently advised younger students.
Lincoln Douglas Captain (2024-25 Academic Year): One of two captains leading Lincoln-Douglas meetings. Put together and led topic analyses, argumentative explanations, and blockfiling sessions (where team members work together to compile sources to respond to various arguments in-round). Judged practice rounds and consistently advised younger students.
Public Speaking Coordinator
For the 2024-25 Academic Year, served on the team Exec Board as Public Speaking Coordinator. Attended biweekly meetings to discuss team business, appointed captains for the 2024-25 year, and liaised with Speech Captains to ensure that all needs were met and brought to the attention of the Board.
Orchestra
2021-22 Academic Year: Violinist for my high school's Concert Orchestra.
2023-24 and 2024-25 Academic Years: Violinist for my high school's audition-only Symphonic Orchestra, which plays challenging musical literature and has received top accolades at the State Large Ensemble Festival. For the 2024-25 year, Symphonic was invited to perform at the Missouri Music Educators Association Conference in January 2025.
Theater
Dec 2021-Feb 2022: Ensemble member in A Deconstructed Melody--danced, sang, and had some dialogue.
Sep 2022-Nov 2022: Stage manager for The Squirrels--attended all rehearsals to note blocking, keep actors up to date with all changed, worked with tech and costume crew and the directors to keep everything in order up to and through show week.
Feb 2024-Apr 2024: Enid in Legally Blonde--danced, sang (including multiple solos), and had several scenes of dialogue throughout the show.

Note: Clayton High School does not weight AP classes but provides a boost of 0.3 to an A+ grade, so a GPA of 4.3 would correspond to an A+ in every class.

Gained eligibility for the Missouri Seal of Biliteracy in May 2024 for French--scored I5 on the Speaking section of the French AAPPL exam and A1 (highest possible score) in Interpretive Listening, Interpretive Reading, and Writing.

Community Involvement
Mayor's Youth Advisory Council: For the 2023-24 academic year, I was a member of Clayton's MYAC, where I attended monthly meetings as well as meetings for the Livable Community Committee.
Sixth Grade Camp: For my sophomore and junior years, I served as a counselor for our district middle school's one-week sixth grade camp. I managed a group of around ten sixth grade girls along with my co-counselor and eighth-grade counselor-in-training, with the three of us serving as the primary supervisors for our cabin. Each year of camp gave me around 80 volunteer hours.
HOBY: As a rising junior, I attended HOBY Missouri's Leadership Seminar. Later that year, I was one of nine students statewide selected for the HOBY Champions program, which HOBY Missouri is piloting. The program was designed to empower leaders from the Seminar to continue their HOBY journey by connecting with mentors and working to help HOBY expand its reach. This culminated in my serving as a member of Junior Staff for the 2024 HOBY Missouri Leadership Seminar, where I got to work with about a dozen rising juniors and help guide their leadership journey. After the Seminar, two other Champions and I were selected to serve as Champion Coaches, a role in which we'd work to guide other Champions and the direction of the program as a whole.
