Summer '23 Intro to Journalism
This summer, we will be hosting a 1-week camp focused on journalistic writing. Not only do these skills set students up to participate in the prestigious CHS Globe, but they also create better overall writers. In this workshop, we'll delve into what makes a story, interviewing skills, and the power of brevity. Students will finish the program with a polished, peer reviewed story as well as a certificate of completion.
Winter '24 How to Write a Killer Essay
In this three hour seminar, we'll throw ourselves into the art of the high school essay. From brainstorming themes based on a text to writing smooth transition with ease, this program allows students to collaborate and share ideas, all while receiving real time feedback based on the CHS Honors English curriculum. Students will leave equipped with the confidence and skills to approach challenging analytical writing assignments as well as new friendships with like-minded peers.
Summer '24 Hacking High School English
This one-week workshop will delve into the various styles of writing required by high school English classes. Over the week, we'll explore analytical, creative, and persuasive writing and go over the strategies that make approaching these assignments a breeze. Students will leave with a polished piece and the opportunity to share their work and receive peer feedback.
